I have always been the kind of person who truly enjoys travel. Not just the destinations, but the transit and the in-room coffee and the little shops and cafes one can find poking around less touristy areas.
I am a sucker for local goods like cheese or chocolate, and if it were up to me I’d have a wardrobe made up entirely of thrift store finds from around the world. I prefer living in new places over simply visiting, trying on what it must be like to truly be from a place.
I have had the good fortune to travel to various parts of the world, and across my own country, more than most people ever will. I think it’s because I’m from one of the bigger states and we are raised on road trips. If one is going farther than the grocery store, the mere fact of going means planning for food and entertainment and such.
What follows are some of my favorites of the photos I’ve taken over the years. I share them because I miss adventuring and unexpected sunsets and tiny odd staircases, and I thought perhaps other people did too.
Also, a bit of housekeeping: I would please like to invite you to pay for your subscriptions! When we transferred from Patreon, I said I’d give out a free month to anyone who switched their patronage here. What I then forgot to do, because I am very wise, is provide y’all with the proper links or a reminder that the month had gone by.
Please find the money button on the bottom of the page after the photos! It’s much appreciated.
(All content will be made free after it’s been up for three months, so it’s still accessible without a paid subscription. Just not in a timely fashion.)
Now that the business is out of the way, please enjoy these photos of sunsets and lampposts and oceans and rainforests, with a few interesting things I’ve found in various cities.
